I know you can't prepare yourself for surgery, but you are doing (and done) a great job. I pray for a successful surgery and a God Bless recovery.
Thank you for your blog!

Hysterectomy is known to disturb nerve plexuses and anatomical relations in the pelvic region. The reason for opting for cervix removal is the presence of cancer in the left over cervical base. And the reason for retaining the cervix is better bowel and bladder function. So one should take a proper decision.

Every person is different Jimmy. I did my due diligence, as every person should, and made the best possible decision I could for my body and health history. I've read enough stories of other women who did not remove their cervix even though they were high-risk for cancer, only to have to go back in and have it particially or totally removed. Maybe I'll have to deal with bladder issues later. MAYBE. Something tells me that might be preferrable to the possibility of cancer. But that's just me.
Bottom line: Everyone's phyisiology, health history, genetics, and risk tolerance is different. They should make decisions for themselves accordingly.
