The Gospel of Judas was written mid 2nd to early 3rd century AD by a group called the Gnostics. There is no reason to believe the documents aren't 1800 years old, but they were not written by Judas Iscariot. They were found in a cave in Egypt in the Nag Hammadi mountains in 1945 along with the Gospels of Thomas and Mary (Magdelene). The History of the Gnostics, and their beliefs is interesting, but pretty far fetched. The recent book "The Davinci Code" uses Gnostic writtings to make their claims. 52 Manuscripts in all were found in Nag Hammadi.
