OK, I'm a liberal when it comes to many social and economic and political issues.
But I do have to agree with this radio talkshow host!
Pedophiles should be shot! As a tax payer, I really don't mind my tax dollars being used to put these low-fife scum-bags on trial.
I favor the death penalty for rapists and pedophiles.

That's horrible, I can't support the death penalty under any circumstances. The ability of the justice system to err is an unacceptable risk: imprisoning can be compensated for mistakes discovered later but we can't resurrect the dead.
I do think that prisoners should be able to volunteer for cryogenics experiments in lieu of serving prison terms though. Currently this is incredibly risky and life-threatening, but once it's figured out, it could replace all death penalties and it would reduce the expenses of keeping active animated prisoners alive, and thaw out those who are exonerated. Not to mention, they wouldn't decompose so you could probably MRI the ice brains to learn about what makes criminals tick.
Btw Gerald when you say 'death penalty for pedophiles' do you mean people who have the disease or the misuse to refer to those who have sex with the underage (usually called statutory rapists or child molesters)? If it's the latter, legally they're a sub-class of rapist so you can just say rapists.
That said, if I did advocate the death penalty, I'd be applying it to murderers before I did to rapists. Rape is horrible and scars people's lives, but I also can't extend more tolerance to people who erase them.
