So much of this rings true !...The only thing that keeps me going whilst undertaking yet another mind numbing assignment is that once I've gone in a week/fortnight's time there's some poor bugger who has to do this 52 weeks of the year !

Based on what you've written, I'm stunned that any agency would be prepared to take you on. You're not flexible are you? Or prepared to take on a challenge?

I've been a temp before you start getting defensive and I worked for FIVE YEARS in a psychiatric hospital. That's the correct term by the way, not "mental hospital" which is degrading and downright unacceptable.

I suggest you think long and hard before you post such crap in future. You're giving Brummies a bad name as well as proving that you're ill educated, bad mannered and lazy.

It's nice to know that temping in the U.K. is the same as it is in the U.S. One temp I worked with said that his co-workers called him the wrong name and they said we call all the the temps the same name. They said there is no use learning your name, since you won't be here long.

I can relate to your tale....One guy i temped call kept callign me Margaret all the time despite the fact that I corrected him a few times on the first couple of days I was there. In the end I conceded defeat and let him call me Margaret for the rest of the assignment, it kept him happy which utimately made my life easier.
