I am making a transcription of the letters written by T.H. Pardo de Tavera to the linguist Hugo Schuchardt. These transcriptions will be posted at the Schuchardt Archive web, sponsored by the University of Graz.
It would be good to have also the letters from Schuchardt to Pardo de Tavera. I have read in this blog that the National Library of The Philippines has at least part of the Pardo de Tavera's correspondence. Does someone know if these letters are at the National Library collection? I will visit Manila soon, and it would be good for me to have some information about this before my travel, so I can make some plans and arrangements.
Thank you very much

Hi Vonjobi,
I came across your blog when I did a search on "Boston Filipinos." Your entry on the Boston Public Library came up. Sorry you didn't run into any Filipinos here, but drop me a line next time you are in Boston. My sister and I are professors at Tufts U. Good luck on your PhD--it was a long journey for me, but well worth pursuing your dreams. There's a professor at U Toronto that I know.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry--my friend is at UBC; my former dept. chair at UCLA was at Toronto many years ago. I was momentarily confused. My picture and an article on my fellowship is up this week on the Tufts website: tufts.edu, click on the picture for the full article. My cousin works at the Filipinas Heritage Library--Lawrence Kasman, I don't know if you know of him. Contact me directly at my email. Best, Mary
