Thank god you've allowed commenting. i think that you repress commenting on some of your post like in the case of c.s. canonigo and the way you treat the matter just explicitly contradicts what you have in this post that is :
"I am reminded that I do what I do not so my words can get quoted in blogs or newspaper articles, but so that others can benefit from whatever I have learned. "
With that thinking, i think you should had your articles waived of extra licensing burden. that is make it open even for some authors who have intent to spread some words which is in common in all of its meaning. that in the essence of giving your thoughts and works free from anything that can hinder your intent of letting others "benefit" from what you have learned.
With the words you have just said, setting legal actions and anything of senseless forms of pursuing just credit for your works just make you look working for "profit" not for the "benefit" of anyone.
john paul: i do not "repress" comments on certain posts. when i reinstalled haloscan more than a year ago, it just so happened that some of the comments on my older posts just disappeared. also there is no "contradiction" between what i say and what i do. whatever is on this blog is freely available to anyone who wants to read it. but i do object to the use of what i've written without my knowledge so that others can profit from them or pretend that they wrote it. you're barking up the wrong tree.
i am certain that your intent is different from what you are saying. you did say that your position on the matter of clear unintentional infringement of your right does not mean you have to go extensive length to prove that you are the one who wrote the article. and o please, for the love of our country, let's make amends simple and peaceful without going through legal actions. besides, we're all in pursuit of a common goal, that is to inform and speak out our mind. I like your site very much and happens to read through it for some time and i can say you are good.

No. It's just it looks & feels different from what you just said in that post. and by the way, i'm only telling you what my opinion is. and sorry if some bells rang and struck you out of somewhere.
