Well, the French had their Bastille stormed once. It may have flipped some DNA switches and turned on some "smart" genes. For whatever reasons - they seem in Europe to have much less patience with bullshit from their "leaders", and don't delay much in turfing them when they don't do the job they were hired to do, like any other employees.
