Your post is a powerful, and truthful message D&F. Something that the "arm chair warriors" who continue to buy in to the load of crap that Bushliburton, and now Mr. McCain and his stooge Mr. Lieberman, and all of the rightwing "newsers" and pundits feed us still do not comprehend.
Bushliburton's mis-adventures in Iraq have always been sold to the American public through omission, obfuscation, and smoke and mirrors. The true cost in dollars, standing of our country in the world, broken or lost lives, and a broken military, will be a debt the American people will be paying for generations to come.
Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Gonzales and their enablers all need to be tarred, feathered and thrown in a cell in Guantanamo, then denied due process, as they would do to "enemy combatants".
Thanks for the cross-posting, Edger. I wanted to show a slice of the human tragedy that war can be, even for someone who never fired a shot. I'm glad that came through. I think the mere act of writing that and baring myself in public has helped, at least in the short term.
One more note: I'm actually out of Iraq now, studying Arabic in Cairo for the next few months. When I was there I wasn't able to even begin the process of self-examination.
