Sound off like you got a pair!

Gravatar I love the comment by a certain comedian.... If guns kill people, I can blame misspelled words on my pencil.

Gravatar Recent events...
Like NIU?

That's where my husband went to school. It's been a hard few months for Illinois.
Especially the burbs of Chicago.

Gravatar I haven't been visiting a lot, cause you haven't been posting alot, but I just knew that this sad business would prompt a rant ( and 3, I see)
I am becoming a convert. Ever since I have been visiting you, my feeling about guns have been well known, but in truth, it is not guns that cause my heart to ache, it is the state of our world.
My little hippie heart still sings... "all we are saying... is give piece a chance",
while I attempt to jump start the left side of my brain to acknowledge that
only if we have at least the same defense as evil, we are lost.
I am saddened by reality, truly saddened.
peace,
hope

Gravatar Very well said. There is always the counter-argument from the non-violence or anti-gun crowd that your angle depends on a responsible and salient parent (such as yourself) to educate the kids, and unfortunately (in their view) your kind of parenting is not prevalent enough to merit the lifestyle of teaching gun education and gun culture.

I'm fully with you,... i think a gun is like a car, or a chainsaw. You can own one, but you are stupid not to educate yourself in its care and safety use.

Gravatar I have always thought of guns are like motorcycles, some should have them, some shouldn't. I won neither. Do I have a right for either, without a doubt. Should I venture into either choice, I will educate myself and my children as you have. But I will not show my wife how to disable the brakes on the bike ...

Gravatar I have two daughters. And they will be taught to properly handle and use firearms.
Please stop by my blog.

Gravatar Amen!

My 12 year old owns 3 guns of his own, has no access to them-except when we are going to the range.

Any time he asks, we go to the locker, open it, and take all of the guns out for him to satisfy his curiosity, ask questions about and learn the proper way to handle and store "unloaded" firearms.

I'm very proud of him. BTW, he outshoots me with my .40 cal semi-auto pistol!
