I recently read on one of the sites for ANSWEER or UPJ that they were going to start up their underground railroads again to help get soldiers to Canada. They also said they were going to do all they could to encourage desertions. Tom Haydon even wrote a paper that is on the alternet that is a rehash of the strategies they used during Vietnam to force America to pull out completely asap! The same old communist rhetoric. God I hope people are smart enough to see through it this time. They also plan to force through legislatiove measures through Congress to move fund away from the military to domestic goals to force troop with drawal.
Well, it is a major factor that benefits, pay, etc. are way up right? I mean the Government did not raise all of those things for no reason? They acted just like any business would. Faced with low enlistment rates, high desertion rates, they responded and paid a lot of money.
Do you want proof? Lower the pay by 5%. Take a pay cut, cut out a lot of benefits and see what happens. People will run. It is not a bad thing. We are looking for the equilibrium point.
You are not implying that people do this "not for the money"? If that were true, why do we have to provide the military a pension that is better than 99.9% of all Americans?
