Thanks for your comment on my post on Weddingbee, and sharing about your dad. I can relate about the elope part--sometimes I wonder what is really the whole point of the ceremony--but then other times I get so swept up in it I can't think of anything else.
Anyway, hopefully it'll all be worth it in the end!

Best of luck with your situation. I think when you find the right person, the wedding is totally worth all the crap, both trivial and painful, that comes with planning it.
