Ick. I hate it when parents act like surly teenagers when they're supposed to be the grown-ups.
Funny that you think having a dysfunctional family puts you in the minority, though; I always thought it was the opposite.
The feeling's just based on my personal experience - not all, but most, of the peeps I know have a solid, happy relationship with their parents and pretty positive memories of their home lives. Which, don't get me wrong, is a good thing, but means it's rare to find someone who I can identify with.
