Hey now! Don't be bashing my family members that way! My daddy's brother's sister's cousin will come and kick your arse!

Your daddy's brother's sister's cousin?
That would make him your grandfather and your step-brother, too, wouldn't it?
Just teasing -- I know all politics is local. I just got my hopes up too high for an insurgent candidacy.
I still think it's a win to teach the RNC and Newt Gingrich a lesson.

Fiscal conservatives have a choice. Get rid of religious fanatics or go down with them. They can either purge the Republican party or start a new party without them.
They will gain more support from the secular side than they will lose from the religious.I would join a party of fiscal restraint, if it wasn't run by the creationist, pro life, homophobic, "Israel is annointed by God" crowd.
The country can argue about morals and manners after we put the country back on a paying basis. As it is, needed change is being held hostage to the culture wars and those that benefit love it that way.

I agree, reddog, but I also agree with uburoisc's very eloquent comment yesterday.
People of faith are welcome (e.g. Romney), but zealots whose politics are driven by their religion and not limited-government conservatism (e.g. Santorum and Huckabee) are repugnant and unelectable.
If you, Negocios, uburoisc, and I can all agree on that, it may be a basis for a new majority. I know the Tea Party movement is on board with that.

The real question is whether Cornyn and McConnell will step in to the Kentucky primary race.
