Charles you are correct the totality is in present.
But the burden of the past does not allow to think about the present. Future also seems uncertain.
Totality seems to be a distant dream.

The past is dead - the future but an illusion. The ever present micro-second of the now is the only reality. You mention "think about the present" - this is an impossibility is it not? Thoughts are always of the past. (Refer to postings "The Past is Dead" and "You cannot step in the same river twice" ). Once the mind has thought about a subject - such thought is already in the past.

Freedom from the shackles and burden of the past can only come about when one can go beyond and become detached from the mind and its thoughts, belief systems, culture and traditions, etc. The real self is unchangeable and is the only "real" refuge this side of illusion.
