Hi Charles,
Opposites....I have been focusing on this and find your post helpful and timely.
A friend described opposites as "categories". 'Life is dynamic, contradictory, infinite. Categories or opposites are static.' I am thinking that is one way of looking at it,yet another is life really isn't dynamic and contradictory, (although it is infinite, but not in this realm) these are ego-mind inventions in themselves. Is this accurate?
Trust or faith. "Trust is empowering. Trust springs from the centre." Wow, yes I *feel* that. Trust is a great word. Trust taps the core, for me faith does not.
warmly,
Gigi

Greetings once again Gigi,
Yes - life appears contradictory or paradoxical to the ego-mind because the mind can only think in partialities - that is - it is impossible for the mind to comprehend totality. The part can never comprehend the whole. The "Self" observes in the ever constant now - the mind then judges and as your friend stated, "categorises" such observation according to it's past conditioning.
It is good that you see the distinction between trust and faith. Now when you are told to "have faith" you can quietly say to your self "I don't need blind faith (faith is always blind - by definition) because I know myself and consequently "trust myself". Trust does indeed "taps the core" as you stated. If you can affirm "I trust myself" or more accurately I trust "the self" then the connection with totality and God is made in the "now". No need then for some future ambiguous belief or faith.
Love always
Charles
