I was reading your blog entry about your friend who uses crystal meth....
this is a difficult predicament because you want to do the right thing and help him out, however you also do not want him to become dependent on you as well (kind of like his new addiction). While you may want to help him out, I think there has to be clear boundaries and clear rules to your assistance - ie
go to treatment, see a counselor, attend a meeting. If he is unable to comply with those requests, then he may not be able to come by and crash again...? It is a fine line between being helpful and co-dependent. There are alot of great groups in the weho area for this type of addiction.

Gravatar Having just ended a 7 1/2 year relationship due to substance (booze), I've been looking into what can be done regarding an addict.
I found the most interesting tale posted by Kevin Smith, on his blog: silentbobspeaks.com
He tells of his friendship with Jason Mewes. It's one of the most interesting, sad, funny accounts of friendship, addiction, recovery.

It's kind of a bitch to find Part 1 of the 9 part epic so I've put it all into a Word doc if you're interested.

Gravatar how about Betty Ford? We have all sorts of good drug rehab in Palm Springs. Tell him you're taking a road trip with him and make it an INTERVENTION!!
