What's that book about? I seem to remember a movie titled the same quite a few years ago starring John Ritter.

Gravatar I'm not sure about John Ritter - the one I seem to remember had Richard Thomas? A husband, wife and young daughter become live-in caretakers for an old lady. Dad is really busy, with little time for his family, although the old lady tries to encourage him to slow down. I've never read the book, but from the reivews I've read (it was originally published in 1994 or 1995) it should be a good start to the season.

Gravatar Stone Creek Anniversary Blend, huh! Sounds wonderful. This orning I'm drinking a single up of motel coffee made from one of those sealed packets...brought home from some recent motel stay. It's a step up from my usual instant. lol

Gravatar The Christmas Box is a lovely story...and as you say, a good start to the Christmas season. I can't explain why, but I am anxious to get out my Christmas tree. This is a 180 for me...some years I refused to put one up...my silent protest against commercialism. LOL

Gravatar I had to laugh when you said you have to plan to be lazy... that is so familiar

Have a blessed week!!

Gravatar I hope you have fun on your planned lazy day a book and some coffee sounds great to me

Gravatar Dinner in the crock pot...my favorite! I am having chicken and rice tonight. Speaking of which, I should probably put mine in the crock pot too!

Have a great weekend!

Gravatar Yeah, Richard Thomas...John Ritter...that's the movie I meant.

Gravatar I hope you enjoy your down time! Good for you for taking that time. We all need that. Makes us better women I think.
I read The Christmas Box some years ago...I remember it being very good, but that is all I remember. Never too early in my opinion to pull out the Christmas stuff. I have it on my to do list to get the music out.
Have a great weekend!

Gravatar I want to plan to be lazy too! =) Sometimes we all need a break. It helps me to be more productive later on when I can get some rest (which is rare these days).

Gravatar I started reading a Christmas book yesterday while waiting for my daughter to have her braces put on...it was a lovely way to spend the morning!

Gravatar Planning laziness sounds really great right now! congrats on your milestone...but I'm not surprised. Your blog is always interesting and fun to visit.

Gravatar everyone goes MIA once in awhile.
Congrats on your milestone!
How'd the chicken turn out?

Gravatar mmmm, I love chicken in the crockpot! It's such a great fall dinner - no matter how you fix it. Thanks so much for the coffee!
Dawn

Gravatar I'm another one who has been MIA and am just jumping back in. Good luck to both of us as we work on our Small Things!
