AM 1500's death march started when they moved Rush to delayed broadcast. I agree Davis needs to be back in the morning. His show, to me, doesn't have the same dynamic that it had in the morning. As for a host to cover 12-2, Dave Thompson would be a good fit (though he may have a real job)!

At KSTP, the "guy who hired Willie" is probably Ginnie Morris. The "program director" [currently Steve Konrad, after years of Joe O'Brien's laissez-faire, nonentity management] is mostly a gofer gig, the person who carries out Morris's edicts amongst the staff.
KSTP should hire Don Vogel. Mishke is not funny and he has a weird accent. The Round Mound of Sound would be a welcome addition to the AM 1500 line up. I heard that there is a dude from out in Maryland who would come to Minnesota for the right price, and he is hyper funny too.
KSTP could get Vogel at a very cheap price.

Phoned the operator of Willie's morning show and complained about the quality of his and his Poli-chicks. They did not want to hear any of it. They are pissed on the phone and KSTP is a sinking ship and they KNOW it.
Willie was taking foot and inserting into mouth about tobacco ban in Saint Paul thereby killing their bars and restaurants.
Willie SUCKS and is a c*nt to boot.
It was idiotic of KSTP or Ginny Morris or the Program Director to move the edgy, funny Bob Davis to the late morning when no one will listen to him because most of the people are already at work. Noweb radio either allowed.

Mostly I agree with you, but I wish KSTP would lose Rosenbaum & O'Connell entirely. They are wretched! I cannot stand the tonal quality of their voices, and the perpetual, "I mean, you know, nobody knows, I mean, well, it's just that..." Bleech. My quick five minute take on and haven't been back to hear Willie, he's just tossing dumb, inflammatory comments out to get a reaction. "These immigrants come here and don't do anything...". My reaction, I switched to classical music.
First the lose Rush. (but, at least he is on FM now, so I can listen at work...poor AM radio reception)
Then they move Bob...bad decision.
Then they give frick-n-frack more time and go up against Rush. Bad judgement.

I'm so glad to see everyone else disgusted with the changes. I keep trying, morning after morning to listen to Willy, thinking it must be me. However, I just find myself wanting to drive off the road. Could anyone on the radio be more blase? I want Bob back! This is like therapy. Thank you.

Good Riddance, Krok. Don't let the door hit you. I hated that guy. The one and only show in talk radio that I couldn't stand having on in the backround. As far as the new schedule, I work 11am - 7pm, so my chances of hearing Willia are pretty slim.. though I'm curious. Bob seems weird at that time slot. They should switch him and Joe O'Brian. I like Joe O. a lot, especially when he was subbing for Joe S. (I like both of them, actually). Mischke at 5:30? Weird! I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. I'm a huge Mischke fan, so it works for me .. but in general, it's kind of a risky move. I'm wondering what the reaction of the drive time masses will be.
Joe O? I'm pretty sure he left to pursue greener pastures a few weeks ago.
What frustrates me the most about Twin Cities radio is that every other station just assumes KQRS is going to kick their asses in the morning so they don't even try.
KQRS sucks, plain and simple. Tom Bernard isn't funny, nor is his supporting cast.
KSTP could have hired a group of funny conservatives to have a genuine conversation each morning about meaningful issues, but instead they hired Willy Clark, who is like an extended Paul Harvey segment, to whine like Andy Rooney with the co-host du jour.
It's pathetic. I used to love the station, but it's a sinking ship and that pisses me off. I hate to see AM 1500 consumed by Clear Channel.
My wife and I, who are Canadian KSTP fans, really enjoy the ironic humour of Mishke. He's a modern Mark Twain. We also like the intelligent discourse of the polichicks - an antidote to the one-sided right-wing drivel common to most usa radio stations.
