Before I went to Vegas about 7-1/2 years ago, I "practiced" a lot with a computer game that had different casino games on it. It wasn't real by any means, but it was a harmless way to get some idea on how the game worked. There are probably much better simulations now. The best low risk advice I can give is to bet the Pass line and back the pass line bet up to get odds when the shooter sets the point. If you can stomach a little more risk, bet the 6 and 8 (you get paid each time 6 or 8 come up until the shooter craps out). You can obviously bet a lot more risky bets if you want. I found that the "hard" bets (this game is just made for you, LF) are way too high risk for the reward as the odds of a shooter rolling a hard eight are higher than the payback. You can probably find the simulations cheap on the closeout rack at an office supply store. Also, its hard to play a $10 minimum bet table without starting with around $400. Unless you are really lucky, you'll take a few hits before some shooter gets hot and keeps the dice for a while. Also, if you get to downtown (where the neon cowboy is) look for casino's offering better odds to get gamblers in. Play Pai-Gow if you really want to take an ass whipping. |

"...with maybe some come bets to get more points working / hedge against the seven on the next roll." |
