I tend to cling onto comments like that, too. And who wouldn't? That's a hurtful comment. And I cannot imagine that it was warranted. Sometimes in life you have to take inventory of your friends. Maybe it's them? If you're feeling that way you might need to clean house, love. Because friends don't say biting comments like that. I had to do the same a while back and I didn't say you suck, bye I just distanced myself a little and now I just spend time with people that I ADORE. Flat out adore and that make me feel good about me.
Hang in there. xo.

Let me just start with, my nickname is Chiver (Chopped Liver). I was given this name by one of my brother's ex-girlfrieds because I once made the comment about how I was chopped liver in my family because nobody tells me anything. Oh, I've tried to communicate, but I just get shut out. I've kinda come to accept it, that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt any less.
I feel the same way with my friends. Sometimes in group situations, I feel that I can't get a word in, and they don't really want to hear what I have to say. I mean, we're all busy, just some more than others and I have so much on my plate that calling to chit chat and catch up with everyone doesn't always even make it to my list of priorities.
That being said, I just keep trying to check in with them when I can. My little group of friends and I make time for each other at least 2 times a year. As for my family, I consider my DH and 2 children my family. The rest are just relatives.
