We're not sports fans around my house. Yay!
Part of the problem with modern day athletes is that they're surrounded by 'yes' men and ass kissers. They're taught early on that everything is negotiable and the sad part is for them, it is. This isn't going to change until the fans do get fed up and quit watching.
As much as I loathe sports I know that there are tons of people who absolutely love them to the point that they're not going to boycott over the players' crappy behavior.
Try being a radio DJ, say shit and the witch hunt is on. Go figure.
I agree with everything you have written. I sit gobsmacked in front of the telly when I see what happens in sports in America. There is definitely a lack of discipline, lack of respect and a whole lot of greed (the huge salaries they earn).

so what the heck did we expect when you take a poor kid from the hood that has never seen more than 5 dollars at a time and give them a gazillion bucks to play some game that up until this point they did for fun? I would much rather watch college hoodlums play cuz when they do good it just means their stock is going thru the stratosphere. They dont need no education just a good agent. They are just as stupid when they graduate as when they started. All this has no affect on the bottom line of my paycheck so I say let' em duke it out cuz I dont see that kind of violence unless I do the pay per view thing. I went to a hockey game once and a basketball game broke out.
