Sure, I think the U.S. constitution was intended to be a living document subject to amendment, but I really have a hard time believing the founding fathers envisioned the Fourth Estate would serve to cover Michael Jackson's trial. (Though, I have to admit, one of the funniest quotes I heard during a sound-byte was: He's going to have a hard time explaining why he gave wine to a 12-year-old cancer patient with only one kidney.)
As for the shit-show surrounding Terri Schiavo, what should and could have been a useful lesson in educating the public about the importance of drafting living wills has instead become a 15-ring circus with every asshole in gubment and the media jockeying to ride the biggest elephant. Fuckers.
And don't even get me started on the effin' Simpson sisters and their way creepy father. PYUK.

I'm living in a country that does not have the first amendment and therefore we do not have freedom of speech. If you go flapping your lips you better be able to back up what you say. Censorship happens, but is rare and it's generally understood that you should have a right to your opinion.
I live in Britian...where our horseshit is preselected for the best flavour.
We aren't getting much of the T. Schiavo case...you can come over here for a break anytime.

The media is getting their asses handed to them about a lot of things and yet they remain relatively quiet on the ass-handing subject. I guess that wouldn't garner any ratings.

You know what else is bugging me? CNN had a "story" on last night on an old man dying at home. It showed his family gathered around and blah blah blah, thought he was going to die Saturday night, but he rallyed and was ABLE TO GO TO CHURCH ON EASTER. Yay, gramps!
When did the act of a normal, aged person dying become worthy of coverage on CNN??
