Vote for me! I can solve the Gitmo problems very easily... Keep the known high-ranking terrorists there and put all the rest in the back of a C-141 cargo plane. Fly the plane back to... oh, say UAE and let then people on the plane out there. They can be questioned and released if need be. Oh yeah, I forgot... half way to the African coast, the Loadmaster must press the 'Jettison Cargo' button. I know, that means that the only ones off the place in UAE would be the crew but at least the prisoners wouldn't be in Gitmo.

Lish- what international laws have been broken at Gitmo? The detainees there do not fall under the protection of the Geneva Convention because they were combatants dressed as civilians. Hardly any countries have 'claimed' the fighters that are being held and those who were claimed have been processed (most released to their home country).
Who says that we haven't learned anything? It is not startegically wise to tell your enemy that you know their secrets before you can exploit those secrets. Most of us forget that 'Freedom of the Press' does not mean that we should know everything! That's one reason that so many of our men were killed or captured in 'Nam, the press would release our attack plans the minute the initiative was launched. The VC could easily set up ambushes or evacuate before the attack.
