Ha! I just got my first library card in YEARS...I had held off because of the same inability to return books. I seem to have the same problem as your daughter in that I feel that once a book is in my house I OWN it and it can live there forever.

This is SO ironic. My son just got a letter from our library that says he owes $35 for a stinkin HTML book that he checked out like 4 months ago. Do ya think they could maybe send out a reminder before it goes this far? Sheesh.

We have a great library and I sometimes have as many as 30 books checked out. Forgetting to renew them has led to more than one really big fine.

The library has saved me hundreds, maybe thousands, of dollars on books I didn't have to buy so I don't mind paying them.

My youngest use to be a big library book hog. 'But it's a good one mom! I want to keep it for one more week.'

I think half the reason I buy so many books instead of going to the library is that I'm afraid of what my overdue record would be. I couldn't even return videos to the video store where I worked 4 days a week on time!

It'd be nice if there was a Netflix version for books. I can never seem to return anything on time, books or movies.

I too suffer from the same afflication...

I have, however, found myself in trouble with library folk for other more dubious reasons...
I could share the blame, at least.

There is something about the sight and smell of books that just does something to a girl, I guess...
