Cool beans. Great interview Whit with a great blogger!

Being a teacher, I take offense to Annika's statement about school. While I agree that there are definitely schools out there that are not as good as others, I have to defend the ones that are good, and are constantly changing to meet the needs of today's students.

Care to name those schools? You failed to do that.
Yes, Annika, the first few years of your child's life they do, like it or not, become your full focus. In reading BLA for some time now I used to get annoyed by your constant references to your son but I get it now. I should've known better but my daughter is 13 now and those years are long behind me.
Good interview. A+.

I'm referring to my school in particular which is in Arizona. But there are several in my district that are wonderful, as well as the two schools I taught at in Texas. You just have to be aware of the practices that schools have in place, which often times you can find online, or by calling the school itself! If you ever move to southern Arizona, I highly recommend the Marana School District!

TT, I am not saying ANYTHING negative about teachers. I can count on one hand the teachers I've known who were not 100% wonderful. And within the education system, there are some wonderful schools. But I do not agree with the system itself. For me. For my kid. I don't want to make choices for anyone else, just for my family -- and school is not for us.
Jeff and Rodger, thank you! Rodger, I often worry that I am annoying b.a readers! Obviously not enough to shut up, though.
