Talk to me!

Gravatar Looks good. Amy has a thing about the cinema, it's too dark and noisy for her. I'm going to see if the lure of high school musical 3 is enough to tempt her in again, and if it is I'll follow it up with Wall-e.

Failing that I'll go see it on my own.

Gravatar I can't wait to see it!

Gravatar Dan- But HSM 3 doesn't start until October! Take the boy!

Dave- I know you're a man of high expectations, so I hope you don't fall into what I feared- keep your head, man!

Gravatar Thanks for the review. I was thinking about taking my daughter to see it, but this is the kid who was scared by Ratatouille, so I'm not sure. . .

Gravatar That's the second excellent review I read on a blog this morning.

The first was some dude over at Parentricity.

Gravatar Rachel- The only time I saw anything close to fear was during a preview for Center of the Earth (or whatever it's called), but you never know what will frighten them!

RTK- That guy at Parentricity probably wanted to get paid for all his hard work- and get some of this ticket expenses back.

Gravatar I don't read a lot of reviews, and when we went to see a movie for the first time in what seems like forever a while ago, I saw a trialer for this. I have to admit, I was skeptical. Looked kind of stupid. But your review makes this sound terrific. Now I kind of want to see the movie. Clapping at the end rarely happens, but when it does it is an awesome thing.

Gravatar James- I laughed, it made me feel good and the kids loved it. Hard to top that.

Gravatar We took Gigi to see it today - it was her first theatre movie and I was scared that she was going to freak out when the lights went out - but she didn't. She only freaked out and begged to go to the lobby to catch her breath when she saw the people. Can't blame her really. Excellent and timely film and spot on review.

Gravatar OK, you've convinced me!

Gravatar i saw the trailer when i took my boys to see King Fu Panda and it looked like an animated version of E.T.

Panda ws good by the way but doesn't hold a candle to Surf's Up! or Hoodwinked...

Gravatar Isn't it great when there is an overwhelming sense of enjoyment in a theater? We had pretty much the same experience... including the clapping... and my wife and I loved it.

Gravatar I fully concur. I avoided everything for a few days to ensure I didn't see reviews until afterwards.

I have to admit I was surprised. The reviews were astounding (and deservedly so), except for a few pieces written by right wing nut jobs calling it "subversive" and "anti-consumer" And the best, complaining because the President uttered the phrase "stay the course" (which actually made sense because he was speaking to a ship's captain).

Overall, my daughter that was afraid it was a "boy's movie" loved it so much she wants to see it again. If that doesn't say how good it was, nothing does.

Thanks for the review.

Gravatar I may have to see this alone. Clare doesn't want to see it and won't change her mind.

Gravatar MotherBumper- That's a good first movie, better than Beverly Hills Chihuahua.

DutchBitch- Finally, you listen to me.

Greg- I can't get my boys interested in seeing Kung Fu Panda, looks like a DVD for us.

Kapgar- Definitely. It makes you feel like you're seeing something bigger than "just" a movie.

JayMonster- No problem. I've heard a few people say that their little girls aren't interested. Granted, Eve would wipe the floor with any princess, but that's a good thing, right?

Darren- Tell her they show a lot of Hello, Dolly. They do.

Gravatar I loved this movie!
