Maybe it will be good for the Yankees to have to fight for their playoff lives for the next month. If they make the playoffs, they should be able to sustain a good run that has catapulted many a wild-card into and through the World Series (2006 - Tigers, 2005 - Houston, 2004- Boston, 2003 - Florida, 2002 - SF and Anaheim, 2000 - Mets)
