Gravatar Showing up at town meetings and bitching about the current state of affairs is for suckahs.

Rarely in this day and age are we afforded the opportunity to commit civil disobedience in hopes of making a positive change.

DC's critical mass rides take place at 6pm on Fridays, hardly a time which interferes with people trying to get to work.

I say bring on the mass, and bring on the noise. I will be the guy on the old bicentennial edition Varsity at the next ride.

Gravatar Ha. Well to be fair, the Critical Mass rides I've been a part of or seen over here on the east coast are nothing like the ones portrayed in this article out west. I like the idea of Courteous Mass, which I don't know if they do up here. You stop at red lights, but you certainly fill the lane and make it clear that bikers are here in numbers and here to stay.

Gravatar I took part in a quite a few CM rides back in Atlanta. I always took MARTA to get to the meeting spot but was often met with snickers or an "I'm sorry" with upturned nose when I told people that I was from the 'burbs.

I would have told them to go play in traffic, but, uh, that's kind of what they were already doing.

Though you surely know this already, I'm not exactly a fan of urban elitism. Can't we all just get along?!
