If you felt really felt moved perhaps you could persuade the government to run more courses aimed at getting women into science? I did an excellent course at Sussex Uni whilst at Mountbatten and now i'm studying engineering at university.

I don't think I would of gone into engineering if it were not for that course. Alas due to funding shortages they no longer run it which is a shame. Hopefully the WISE bus is still making the rounds unless their money has been pulled.

Good idea - can confirm that WISE bus is still going strong but I have always felt that girls need to be enthused early (and boys for that matter) P Anne also read out bits from the WHSmith Christmas Catalogue 2002. Boys toys - Chemistry set, Little engineer etc. Girls toys - Rapunzel Barbie, Kool Texting Kit!!!!

Sadly things haven't changed since I played with my brother's meccano and chemistry set. What happens to girls who don't have brothers??
