I don't believe you - "oh look a Valentines card from the pretty Tory candidate. I'll go and help the liberals deliver leaflets..."

Well I never got one. Is this the start of an "I love Charlie" campaign?

I think they were aimed at the younger generation although i didn't get one - just a patronising letter telling me how important it is to vote and how MP's affect our lives. I don't think Caroline has much hope for my generation and I'm tempted to agree with her - although theres no need to be rude!

Well its better to try than not at all. What is your solution Mr H? If you think you've got a better way then why don't you get out there and do something about it rather than moan about the fact you got a letter.

Have you seen this card? If so, put it online. I really cannot see how someone is going to suddenly switch sides after seeing such a thing. It's always "some people" or "someone said this, that and the other."

Its Ms H actually and I do get out there and campaign. I'm sure young uns like me would prefer to know their policies. What was laid out in the letter was facts that we learnt at school, i.e. "they choose how much money to take from your salary"

Also, I'm sure someone under the age of twenty-five would, if they didn't really care, be persuaded to vote Liberal Democrat because of a valentines card. I know it sounds stupid but its many of my friends reactions. When there is seemly little to distinguish in their eyes between the two, one little thing could sway it. It could, however, work the other way

Guido - you betta believe it because they may have been targetted at the younger generation but I am not sure your targetting was accurate. Wives were hacked off and some couples did actually discuss this and decide that the approach was sexist and demeaning. Each to their own and I am sure that some people will have liked it but it wasn't a winner with everyone

There was uproar in our house as both myself AND my wife received a card (and hence accused eachother of meddling with The Forces Of Darkness!).

"Wives were hacked off and some couples did actually discuss this and decide that the approach was sexist and demeaning."

Why was it? What was said? Please justify your claims now you've started it.

I don't believe you either. Maybe that is something you could tell your friends at Gidleywatch down the road, considering they published Guido's remarks so quickly. The leaflets, after looking at one, were actually aimed at women that you like standing up for so much. Also, it was addressed to both Mr & Mrs so how can they be sexist and demeaning. Jealous wives indeed! More like jealous because your party didn't think of it first.

Sour grapes indeed. If the Liberals dont think up an idea it is whacky and a stunt.Mrs Gidley is 'not a winner with everyone' either.

Pathetic harmless fun the response
typical liberal outrage 'one resident told us he's voting for us because.....' always anominous can't be traced. The term Honourable shouldn't be used by politicans, certainly your party, servicemen are honourable. To think the seat I used to visit often, I was a Naval officer, that was represented by a kind decent man could deserve your party well theres no justice is there.

I'm glad to note that literacy was clearly not a pre-condition for entry into the forces...

Lol @ Colvin being "a kind decent man". But of course "ex Navy ex Romsey" is in fact a Tory candidate who frequently defends hunting (so presumably this is his way of putting his oar in about the ban). It's a pity, because his posts on politicalbetting.com are never as infantile as the tosh he posted on here.

Has your opponent got a website? Please could you post a link on your website - apparently she's quite easy on the eye.
