Ok if I read your post right you are talking about an actual dr.assisting in the ending of ones life who Is compatant{I don't think I spelled that right but anyway you understand} enough to make that decision for them self? If you are then I agree with the whole situation there are some people that are in such a vegetative state that they have no quality of life and they are suffering inside they can speak and they are of sound mind.But that is all they can do. Or there are some who have a terminal illness that will render them so sick before they die or in so much pain while they are dying that they are suffering greatly. Yes I think that we as human beings should be able to make that decision for ourselves with the guidence of our doctors so that we can pass without pain or prejudice I don't think that it should be left up to a government body to make that decision for us I think that it should be left up to the individual and thier doctor. Here in the u.s we had a dr when I was a child that did that his name and I do not know how to spell it at all so bare with me Dr. Kavorekian Anyway he did this and he was well known and would travel to help people who were suffering while they were dying and they would talk together and make the right decision for the person and he would assist them as they died. Now as a child looking back at this I thought then as I do now that he is a great person to put that burden on himself and do the "right" thing. He was arrested and I am not sure what ever became of him after that. But like I said I was a child when this was going on and it had a great impact on me I watched my father suffer greatly with cancer and my mother suffer watching him deteriorate the way that he did and If I could have found this dr back then I would have begged and pleaded to help end the suffering faster.Maybe I am looking at this the wrong way but now as an adult I am in the medical profession and I see death,Pain and suffering in the eyes of the elderly and not so elderly everyday and I only wish that it was legal here for a dr.to assist the dying in passing away with alittle bit of pride.and no more suffering. I am very interested in hearing more of this from you and good luck with all. |

It makes me shudder when politicians our law makers and political masters start discussing euthanasia, mercy killings, and assisted suicides. We are already seeing court cases in the UK of people fighting for the rights for medical treatment and the right to live.We are seeing the annual cull of our elderly in our hospitals from MSRA and lack of care and attention and nobody is lifting a finger to help them. It is going to be a bleak world when we start killing ourselves off when we get old and sick. It is coming and we must stop politicians passing any laws on euthanasia. |

mrsa is a staff infection that dosen't have to be in the nursing homes If the rooms and facilities were properly cleaned this wouldn't happen Also Have you see what a decubitus looks like a "pressure sore" when a person is bed bound and cannot move at all and literally has to be moved by others to even roll over on thier side.They to can be avoided if the proper care was given to these people in the nursing homes. We have to start somewhere and the nursing homes need to be crack down on!!!! I would love it if you would take time out to see a elderly person who has a decubitus in their sacrum. Or really just anywhere on there body it will discust you and make you angry knowing that with the proper care and making sure these people get turned continually and bathed regularly will definatly fix and cut down the problem of mrsa and other comunitable dieseaes and bed sores [decubituses] in the nursing homes think about it. |

The explosion and increase of MRSA in british hospitals came about by the privatisation and contracting out of cleaning services in hospitals by the last conservative government. To its shame the labour party has not reversed this disastrous situation resulting in the deaths of thousands of elderly people. |
