Sorry I dont agree with you, Jane got taken in with the 'you can do good for your community' chat up line that im sure is used everywhere when selling democratic this and that.

She served her time, and made mp before the 'you can do good for your communtity yada stuff' was pulled from under her.

I have friends in the Nederlands and she described local politics there as vicious probably like it is here.

Jane is an example of not 'fitting in' and being a good party animal (say labour mps voting with the whip), and a good local mp. That might be the reason why so many many people don't vote locally or nationally.

She's a bit hypocritical in complaining about The Guardian mentioning someone's height, when she herself more than once comments on some person's weight.

As a former constituent of Jane Griffiths' who attempted to lobby her on at least one issue (top-up fees) I found her to be rather curt and tactless, and friends of mine found similar problems. I wouldn't have minded her disagreeing with me on the issue if she hadn't called me all manner of names as well. When we went to the Commons on the day of the vote she accused us all of peddling Liberal Democrat propaganda...

Having said that, I don't really see how her blog is bitter as such? It's certainly dull...

Mind you, I only just noticed the description in the top right...

Martin Salter was much more willing to engage with us than she was, as I recall, even if the man can be a bit brash.

Note last comment was from Martin? Surely not Martin Salter???

No, I'm not Martin Salter, I'm another Martin...

Personally, I think it is a shame that she hasn't mentioned her rats yet. Thankfully, her MP website is still up: http://www.janegriffithsmp.org/v...org/vic& bob.htm
