The antiviral drug tamiflu should be made available to everybody in this country until a vaccination is ready. |
Does that include the lives of your conservative opponents Peter? It's a pity that the health service is using up resources on things like the growing problem with alcohol. Maybe the chances of providing such a vaccine would be improved if your party in power stopped defending such inept policies. |
'We are sleepwalking towards a flu pandemic'under Mr Sowerby's glorious Labour Government.Has his towering intellect not yet worked out how to blame this on Margaret Thatcher? |
The great achievement of Thatcher was to destroy the conservative party. You tory mongrels will never get voted back into power again in this country. |
Mongrels eh? You sound like a rabid dog yourself? Things have a habit of going round in cycles Peter. Give it time mate. |

"Pharmaceuticals have been ripping the world off for years and now its the time for them to accept responsibility for a change and to save thousands of lives." |
As a former pharmacist does Mrs Gidley agree with sourboy that the pharmaceutical companies have been "ripping off the world for years"? I personally think that they do a pretty good job, financing research and developing new drugs, and I was appalled at the decision against Merck awarding a widow US$250 million for the loss of her husband. That is unreal. |

You tory capitalists have no morals. Doses of Tamiflu are getting on to the blackmarket already and its more expensive than heroin. You should be ashamed of yourselves trying to capitalise on the bird flu scare. |
You Labour loudmouths lost your morals years ago Peter, especially when you fat friend John P sticks his fingers up to everyone. You are making a mountain out of a molehill by suggesting that Tory capitalists are profiteering out of bird flu. What isn't on the black market these days other than the kitchen sink? Mrs Blair does a good job making money just by being the PMs wife so what have you got to moan about. Where does your vote transfer group meet then? Are they paid up members or is it just all bull on your behalf? |
Glad you asked Clive are you thinking of voting against your own tory party? We have three local tactical voting groups at the moment North Baddesley, Romsey, Valley Park,We only all meet up when a local election is called and to fight whatever sector the election is in. We also communicate throught WWW.tacticalvoter.net.Although we are self funded a donation of |

No, I'm just exposing you and what you get upto. Thanks for the information. |

It’s a shame Sandra your comments section is ruined by a few contributors who seem happy to sling childish rhetoric at each other and often miss the real issues you are trying to portray. Your roll on the Lib Dem front bench I believe is Women and Older People and has such you will have noticed this week a movement on behalf of the Tories to select Ken Clarke has their leader. This in my opinion is roughly equal to when Maggie Thatcher started her campaign because it appealed to the major area of disgruntled voters at the time women. Ken appeals to the major area of dissatisfaction this time which is pensioners. If he takes on the five areas of policy that need change i.e. a fair basic pension for every pensioner in UK, removal of means testing (pensioner credits), return index linking of pensions to wages, council tax based on ability to pay and free long term care he could win but I guess I have a better chance of winning the lottery this week end. Mind you it might give your truculent bloggers something to think about and who knows just perhaps if we keep the pressure on one of the other parties might just realise something needs to be done. Better go back to my bath chair and lie down I`m elucidating. Perhaps it’s the start of Bird flu better nip along to the docs for my shot Oh dear I am elucidating politicians first pensioners last but that’s normal isn’t it? |
If the conservatives were still in power you would not have a NHS,free long term care or council tax based on the ability to pay. I remember Ken Clark and thatcher destroying our society. When you are queuing up for your free flu jab thank god for the labour party who rescued this country from the political, economic and social madness of the conservative parasites. You should stop waving your pension book in the air and join us comrades applauding Tony Blair and the Labour government for their achievements. |
You must be looking at the world through rose tinted spectacles comrade Peter. The economy was already in good shape when Labour came to power. As for council tax, there is no such thing as the ability to pay and many people are finding it difficult to cope with spiralling rises. Why should anyone appauld a political party that's based on spin, lies and deceit? In fact Peter, why do you still belong to a party that's ditched most of it's core socialist values anyway? Let's face it, previous Labour governments did a good job in nearly backrupting Britain and in time, this one will end up doing the same thing. |
Peter I am a labour supporter and your comment shows just how much out of touch you are, waving pension books is a thing of the past where I suggest you still are. Yes labour and Tony Blaire have done well on some issues but older people is not one of them. I suggest you stop spending your time snipping at everyone you think is anti labour and start looking at the bigger picture. Labour will not will the next election without properly addressing pensions and the issues around them. I know the ground swell of feeling amongst older peoples organisations & I am not ashamed of my roll in trying to improve things for older people and that means engaging with all the political parties. I would move my vote if it meant a better future for the two million pensioners still living below the official poverty line and the ¼ million who die each year through cold related illness. It’s your future but my present so think on. |
Where is our hostess,or is she leaving all the running to comrade sowerby, who probably couldnt run a PU in a B. |
Peter Sourby, your Labour party has cuased great harm to pensioners by the vast increase in obligations and staff that have been put on all councils. With Council tax riing 70%+ under labour that hits pensioners on fixed incomes harder than any other group. |
