Gravatar Although your idea might be sound - build it yourself - I think citing that JRS is only 20 years old is a bit, well, shortsighted.

It was built in 1987 by then-owner Joe Robbie, and in fact was called Joe Robbie Stadium. Ask yourself, why did the stadium since change its name AND its ownership?

The very money Joe Robbie used to build the stadium has been erased from everyone's memory because he was forced to sell his franchise, because he couldn't afford to keep it and the mortgage for the stadium he built. Wayne H-bomb Huizenga bought it and has since committed 'damnatio memoriae' by selling the naming rights.

The Marlins have offered to finance a big part of the cost of construction. Not to mention, if los politicos in Miami could get their act together, it would help the Miami economy more than it certainly would hurt.
