Besides, I like horse-meat. Before the Communists came, they had been the biggest hiorse burtchering operation in Austro-huagary and then in Czechoslovakia. They had to run like ambulances to get to the horses that died on the job in under an hour, which is kind of cool when you think about it, or seems to to me.
My environmentalist freinds freak out when I talk about eating horse-meat, but they were domesticated for meat and milk. It's not like they were useful for work until they'd been domesticated already for genreations upon generations. They're not immediately useful like donkeys or reindeer. They aren't even very smart animals, at least not comparted to goats and pigs.
I blame TV and sentimental girlie types.
