Thank you for bringing this to our attention at the World Golf Hall of Fame. It is our objective to celebrate and honor the greatest players and contributors to the game of golf and to tell their stories. The initial resource that was used to write the page did say 8 feet, but as we have researched further it does seem 20 feet seems to be the consensus---however they did not use exact measurements at that time. We have updated our web page and thank you for your concern.
