I used to buy my cigs on the net (NY). Earlier this year, I got hit with a $900 tax. I am SSI. WTHeck?
Some of it was sales tax, and some of it was excise tax. I DIDN'T EVEN LEAVE MY HOUSE! I can't wait until someone takes this to court. I cannot afford to or I would.

The laws of your states (and mine) require that you pay the local state tax that you purchase out of state and bring home.
It's on your (long form) income tax form (at least in NY) but even in GA, it's still required. Your state, my state all the states - it's too durned bad you have been taught to break the law.
