When Hillary and Obama met back before the convention (was it June?), some deal went down to get Hillary to step aside and support Obama. We haven't seen what it is yet--this can be it. It is clear, Hillary for VP wasn't offered. Hillary being SoS would give her all the foreign policy background necessary to run on "credentials" in 4 or 8 years.
