Gravatar You ask what's worse... Florida law allowing this or the disgraced sheriff having the chutzpah to try running again...

I can tell you what's worse. A disgraced sheriff running unopposed...

"While Sheriff Gary Borders has said he plans to run, officials say no one else has pre-filed for the slot."

If Sheriff Borders doesn't run then you'll see a really bad outcome.

Of course, your Knucklehead of the day could end up being the voters if they still vote Knupp in.

Gravatar Hey THM,
I have been here in Florida for 6 years. The first few years I looked at the politics voted blah, blah, blah.

For the last few years I have noticed that unless you have felony you can't run for office. I thought that was a requirement. I was kidding with someone and said that even if I wanted to run for office I really didn't want to run down and knock of the local 711 to qualify.

I have been paying attention to the news and papers and I am amazed with elected officals here.

So I guess I won't be running for any offices soon. I have never even had a parking ticket. So I wouldn't fit the bill. I don't think disgraced has any meaning here. It's well he is a good old boy. Maybe he just had a bad day. As a southerner anyway I still don't believe in the "good old boy tudes." I had much rather see a good person tude.

I'm sure that this disgraced sheriff Knupp doesn't see anything wrong and will run and the blind leading the blind will vote for him. I don't live up there so I guess he won't get my vote. I went to one election that every name on the ballots was someone I had read about for one thing or the other. I voted for my good old stand bys. Howdy Doodie, Peppy LePew, Elmer Fudd, Tweetie,Road Runner and so on. I will vote it just depends on who is offered up. I know it makes the vote counters mad but if they can't get electronic voting machines I can't help it.

That's my take on things.
