My most heartfelt condolences on the loss of your beloved pet. I can relate. Some years ago, my 14-year-old pet lutino cockatiel, Houdini, died in my hands. I noticed he was acting unusually in his cage and took him out. He was having great difficulty breathing and he must have had a heart attack while I was holding him in my hands trying to comfort him. I have some sort of unhealthy psychological block on crying (I was raised under the mantra "big boys don't cry") but losing Houdini that way cut through that block and I was crying like a little kid. At least I have the knowledge that Houdini led a long and happy (spoiled rotten) life and didn't die alone.
It truly sounds like Tenten had a long and joyful life with you and your family. Cherish the good memories.
