how can a dog drown? he must have known how to swim. i think something else happened to him while he was in the pool, cramp, heart attack, something like that

That is just awful. There's nothing worse than having a pet die unexpectedly - especially in that way. My heart goes out to her. I'm an animal lover and consider my pets as my own children. Poor thing!
I have a bulldog, and reading this story made me tear up. Poor Pink, I am dreading the day that my little bully is no longer.

My sincerest sympathy on the loss of her beloved dog Elvis. I found this story deeply sad as a life long dog owner.
How awful! I thought it was a well known fact that english bulldogs are susceptible to drowning and it's sad there weren't precautions taken to protect the pup.

Even if this was a direct result of carelessness, I'm sure it was not intentional on Pink's part, and she probably feels horrible knowing she could have locked him in the house.

Maybe since it's been below freezing around here, he got hypothermia. No excuse. Keep your pool fenced off or covered.

yeah, bulldogs have a hard time breathing anyway, he probably drowned because he sucked in a bunch of water too fast. poor puppy, that was so irresponsible of pink.
