I usually don't care about this kind of stuff but when I immediately saw the picture I instantly thought of a "gang rape" situation. I think they should pull it.

It's sexy, but in a disturbing and scary way.... definitely conotates gang rape, even if the guys are all incredibly hot, it's still wrong.

yes i am a women, and this does offend me. maybe if they took the other 3 guys looking on out of the photo it wouldn't be so bad. to me its very degrading to women, and this kind of stuff usually never offend me either, but rape is a big no no in my book.

I guess what makes it creepy rather than sexy is the 3 other dudes watching. The pinning-the-arms-down thing... that's been done many times before and hasn't caused a stink.
Anyways, people are just too damn sensitive these days... takes the fun out of life!

My first thought was LOVE THE SHOES!!
then I thought the picture was sexy then I read the information and looked the picture a totally different way. It is like art everyone looks at things differently.
Now the picture is ruined for me = (

mizzjonez, I agree...if they took the three "instigators" out of the background, it would be sexxy

I want to take the (whole day) off Tues., 3/13---if my boss okays this; since I have a Dental appt. in the afternoon; I was originally going to come in and leave at noon and take 3.5 hours vacation; but let’s see if my manager says it’s okay for me to just not come in.
…Sincerely,
Julie

When i first looked at the picture i thought that it was sexy and very catchy... the woman does not looked like she is going to get raped... look at her facial expressions...
You ppl are way to sensitive!

I wish people would spend more energy trying to fix real probelms in the world--like actual violence against women--than being outraged at an ad based on their personal interpertation. How many people that posted comments or blogged about the ad are actually involved in groups that assist or try to prevent violence against women. You should use your energy and your voices more wisely.

We need good 'ol Archie Bunker back and George Jefferson! This PC crap has gone to the extreme! I remember days when people weren't so damn sensitive to every flippin' thing in the world. It's becoming ridiculous!

it's fashion and advertising at it's best. Create a little controversy, get everyone dropping your name and people who aren't familiar with DG now know who they are and thanks to you all, you just helped them rake in a few more customers and increased their end of year profit. Genius.

Oh come on. What red blooded woman would not fantasize about being taken by those men?
Fantasy is the operative word, I should add. Clearly the men are gays and they are just playing around. No harm is going to come to that woman, but a girl can dream.

Their entire series of ads over the last month or two have been disturbing and offensive - am I the only one who has seen them? They have included knives and other odd apparatus which look like they will be used for torture or gynelogical procedures! And gay-looking men in underwear with socks stuffed in them.

I'm a woman and I'm not offended. Gang bang did not come to mind at all. The woman is pushing her body towards him, not tring to wriggle away. She wants it and likes the audience. Maybe you Americans are just too sensitive...

i've never been overly sensitive about things like this, but i think it's a good thing this got pulled. way too many people would be offended by it. publicity is a good thing, but not like this.

Mm hm, these guys are gay as can be. I'm not worried about her. I think he's saying "no, you stay right here while we have sex with each other."

i dont like it because: she lifted her bum as if she's trying to resist, she's looking away as if she does not want to be there. and those actions makes me think the atraction is not mutual. add the guys who are waiting their turn to that equation, and it def. looks like a gang bang. it could be more sexy if her expression was as if she was enjoying it; that it would look more like she was the desired queen bee.

Hey, maybe she just bragged that she was a soldier who'd never have to face combat...or did some other job for equal pay without equal effort. Or maybe she made some snide feminist aside. Then again, looks like she she shaves her legs, so who knows....

This is offensive to me. And obviously it is offensive to others. If you aren't offended with it, that's fine. But they did the smart thing by pulling it, an ad that offends a lot of people can really hurt sales. But I still saw it, and although I'm not a huge DG, it's going to make me think twice before buying their stuff next time. There is NO way that they couldn't have known before that some people might think this looks like a rape is about to happen.

If it's so sexy why isn't the guy holding the woman down smiling? He's not even smirking, his face is expressionless, even robot-like. The other guys look creepy. Yes, they are handsome men, beautiful bodies, but the add connotates nothing more than controversy. Some it will offend, and others it will not. The women saying "I wish he'd hold me down like that" are obviously sexually repressed. I make love to my girlfriend often by holding her wrists down, at her bequests, but the looks, body positions, and creepiness factor cannot be easily dismissed. They were/are retarded to have gone through with this add. Dumb.
