It was stupid that she even had to go to jail in the first place. Going to jail for driving on a suspended license is ridiculous!!!
However they've made a mockery of the legal system by letting her out of jail early. House arrest is a joke for her.

it says here that 5 days is the usual amount of time served for a violation of this kind.. if that's true, then it was unfair for her to get a 45 day sentence in the first place..

Yeah, since when is not eating or sleeping a medical condition. If it was really a medical thing, they would have sent her ass to the hospital and cuffed her to the bed.

1:00 pm - She violated her probation twice not once. Her license had been taken away from her after the first violation. She was driving with NO license. She could of easily been drunk again while driving without a license, which was the initial charge DUI. Yes, she should of gone to jail for at least 45 days, if it were you, you probably would of gotten 90 days. Now she gets to sit at home for 40.
I think LA has open a big can of worms letter her go on house arrest. Any lawyer for a defendant that has the same charges is going to ask for the same punishment. I tell you, they have their heads in their asses.

ya know what i think is funniest about thw whole thing? in a the-worl-makes-no-sense kind of way...the fact that 40 days at the hilton house is probably a lifestyle most people would wish for. and it's her punishment.

I don't know, 40 days at a Hilton house may be ok for some, but for Paris it will probably be awful. No going out. I witnessed an ex-bf go through house arrest in college, and they will arrest you the second your ankle bracelet shows you've left your house. I agree she should have stayed in jail, but at least she is serving the entire length of the sentence now, and not only half. It may be easier at home, but 40 days without being to leave her house will be hell for her, and at least we won't have to see her for over a month!

I think going to jail for the violation was a bit extreme; however, if that's the law then she should pay the time in jail. This house arrest thing is horse shit. Now we are going to see her every day b/c you know the papparazzi is going to be camping out in front of her house waiting for her to to fuck up. And as far as this medical condition plea...I bet her herpes flared up!!! If it was such a serious medical condition then WHY the fuck isn't she in the hospital...stupid fucks that let her out need their asses thrown in jail.

i heard the reason they released her is because she had a very strong dose of antidepressants. and the jail does not give there prisoners that high of a dosage...

you are all morons. First, It is really immature to hate someone you do not even know. Do you know anything about this women besides what the papers print? no! please realize that these papers need to print something interesting to read in order to make money. A lot of what they print is falseifyed. Also, what they dont print is that paris donates lots of money to all kinds of chartiable causes, and contributes a lot to society.
Second, If you know anything about the legal system, you would know that the punishment she recieved in the first place is ridiculous. She got a DUI, which suspended her license. She then drove on the suspended license, thus violating the probation she recieved from the DUI. She Had ONE probation, a previous one years ago was null and void. Any other person who violates probation by driving on a suspended license gets their license revoked, a hefty fine, and the occasional 5 days in prison. Most get off with NO jail time. Her sentance was to make a point, they used her, which came back and bit them in the ass, so they released her, which made the system look even worse.

This whole situation is riggoddamndiculous, and its been that way from the start. First of all how is going to your court appearance considered good behavior? In the real world, if your ass doesn't show up in court then you get a warrant put out for your arrest. Secondly, last time I checked prisions had nurses and doctors. So someone please explain to me what kind of medical treatment she had that could not be looked at by on-sight staff? Thirdly, I'm sure Paris does do charity work, and by work I mean nothing but have someone write a check for her. As for contributing to society, when you watch a clip of someone who says she takes it up the butt for coke, is not a societal figure that anyone should look up to. She needs to grow the fuck up and realize that people would kill to have money like she does and be famous for absolutely nothing, it's a shame how she abuses that.

The latest article that caught my eye while following my blow site was title “Paris Hilton-Free Women.” Yes, its true Paris Hilton went back to jail and was sentenced to 45 days in prison, but only served 5. She was released and fitted for a house arrest bracelet and was sentenced to be on house arrest for 40 days. I feel that Paris Hilton along with every other top notch celebrity always gets the “get out of jail for free” card no matter what. The sheriff stated that the reason they let Paris out early was because of “medical” needs but its ironic because when she was drinking and having a ball she did not pay attention to any of those medical needs. I think that Paris Hilton has not grown since the first 6 times she went to jail. If it was any other NORMAL human being in her position they would have spent the entire 40 days in jail with no remorse.
