yeah, but then again, the rate did not decrease from last year, which means 37 million Americans--mostly people of color and children--still live below the poverty line. and the number of people who make 50% or less of the poverty level actually increased. but that's probably just me being partisan and/or a pessimist...

it seems that the times editorial page shares my dim assessment of the news. (not that this makes me any less of a malcontent!)
'Course, we all know that the times just makes stuff up to make the president look bad!
