Already avoiding products bearing the saltire at Tesco. I would do the same with any product bearing the West British flag too, but my local branch has never had anything on the shelves bearing that particular emblem.
Financial considerations are the only ones which will change the minds of the Tesco board and the action I have described is my own, small and probably laughably pathetic contribution to bring about that change. However, from tiny acorns, and all that...

It seems to me that to protect sales volumes in Scotland and Wales, Tesco are deliberatly not displaying the St George. If it WAS displayed on everything that currently shows the Union Flag it would be all over the place and that would upset our Scotch and Welsh pals.

Found your website searching for confirmation that Tesco claims that people are not concerned about buying 'English' so long as they can buy 'British'.
I agree, it's a disgrace, and it's a form of discrimination. Each other country of the union can be identified and claim nationality except the English. I'm English. I'm not Scottish, Irish or Welsh, or even UKish, whatever the heck that is, I'm English. I'm not actually a bigot, or a racist, I'm happy for other countries to maintain their cultural identity - all I ask is that the same courtesy is extended to me.
I won't be shopping at Tesco anymore if I can help it.
I did a blog about this today, having discovered that Waitrose are happy to identify foods as English.
To Anonymous, I'd say - either you are not English, or you do not know that the government is trying to abolish our country in a very underhand and sneaky way. We are to be known only as 'the Regions' in future. And I object strongly to that.
