Oh, my goodness. What an image! nearly splatted hamster! Thanks for the laugh, and glad the hamster poofed back up again.

I did a double-take to see whether you'd actually taken a blog picture of the splayed feet before you rescued the poor thing... you did not. [smile]

What an adventure! I'm glad it all turned out well and you have a hamster again instead of a tiny bear-skinned rug. (I'm still pondering how she wedged herself in there...)

Oh the horror! But oh! so funny!
Too bad the picture doesn't let us see the hamster squash.

I'm glad the hamster is fine. They are sneaky little fellows!
Isn't the rain way too much. The view of your hose looks a lot like my area. I promise I won't complain about 100 degree July days if the rain just stops for a while. How about you?

Oh thank goodness you didn't suffocate the hamster! I killed one of Hannah's hermit crabs once by forgetting it was on the kitchen counter and leaving the house. We didn't find it until it was, ummm, too late.

You may have noticed that nowadays I say things like "it is possible to use [technique] for that." And then I shut up, about the technique anyway.
Glad hamster is OK!

Oh Ruth! I'd recognize the garden hose drainage pipe anywhere. (Though mine consists of swimming pool filter hoses duct-taped together.) I'm sorry you have had to resort to such measures. I keep going down to the basement with my heart in my throat, but so far we're still dry. Hope you dry out again very soon, too.
Poor hammy! I can't even see her in that picture. She must have been pretty flat.

Funny hamster story - I had a similar experience with Ben when he was a pup. He was under the covers in the bed, and then he disappeared. I finally found him at the end of the bed, in a little pouch made by the sheet and blanket just before the tucked-in part. He was fast asleep, like a little baby kangeroo in a pouch.........

So, were the children actually milling en masse, or were the boys standing on one side of the room and the girls on the other?
The socks/generic hat are great -- probably the best thing to come out of such ann unfortunate accident.
And, naturally, I am very happy to hear that Hamster survived his near-squooshing intact, poor little fella.

Oh, I am so glad Hamster is okay! *whew* And the cast/toe cover is really quite cute even if it doesn't match your original idea.
