Gravatar That is too bad because the sweater is simply gorgeous.

But you know, if you had intended to knit her Ladyship a sweater, would she have been as pleased. This one she gets to scoop out from right under your nose!

Gravatar At least it can still go to Rhinebeck. Memo to HL: do not, under any circumstances, at any time remove the sweater at Rhinebeck. Someone-sharing-your-room covets it also.

Even the winged seraphs of heaven would covet that sweater.

Gravatar That's what you get for finishing early and being all smug about it.

Gravatar It really is beautiful. Lucky girl!

Gravatar I can't say as I blame Her Ladyship, you know. It's gorgeous! Nice work, despite the dirty-stinking-liar swatch.

Gravatar I hate liars!

Beautiful knitting. Lucky Ladyship.

Gravatar Maybe Flat Scout can wear it?

IT's beautiful!

Gravatar It was gorgeous in progress in person and it's gorgeous now. Heartbreaking for you but I can imagine her joy

Gravatar Shoot! So sorry the swatch lied--but it's BEAUTIFUL and I love the color.

Gravatar Oh I'm sorry you don't get to wear it because it is truly lovely but you can admire it from afar.

Gravatar Personally I think "gauge" is part of an non-knitting conspiracy, just like "knitting math" and most knitting patterns written before 1989. Eeeeeuuwwww. I have found that some patterns/designers have an impossible gauge and some yarn knits up strangely OR has the audacity to puff-up and stretch when washed. Anyway, we've all been there, and it's heartbreaking - good thing for smaller people and when even they are oversize - teddy bears and American Girl dolls. Hang in there lass, there's always the next project.

Gravatar Oh man. I'm so sorry. I'm also scared that your daughter may have the gauge goddess in the palm of her hand. That's power.

Gravatar Oh, Ruth. I am so sorry. But, it is stunning. See you tomorrow! Where are you guys staying?

Gravatar Oh, holy cow, Ruth! It is gorgeous! Those are some major mommy points you should get there!

Gravatar WOW. She looks GREAT in that sweater. As hard as it is, it's time to give it up to her and knit yourself something else.

Another home run for intuition -- part of you knew all along.

The sweater is absolutely lovely.

Gravatar Arghh! After all that beautiful knitting, nevermind the intense worrying, it doesn't fit. That's why recently, socks and shawls are looking better and better to me.
It is a gorgeous sweater...I'm so sorry.

Gravatar Oh, I'm so sorry Ruth. Glad your daughter likes it. I was going to offer to buy it from you and take it off your hands- it's beautiful. I'm bringing chocolate to drown ones sorrows. See you in a few hours!

Gravatar The sweater is beautiful! Perhaps you can purchase some more way-cool fiber tomorrow, and make another? Have a great time, and think of me!!!!

Gravatar It truly is beautiful...too bad it's so hard to tell the Genuine Worrywort from the Imagined Worrywort. I can almost never tell one from the other (until it's too late, of course).

Gravatar Oh, noooo!! Even if it doesn't fit, it is BEAUTIFUL!

Gravatar Oh pooey!! It is so lovely. Is it worth reknitting to make one for you, too?

Gravatar OUCH.

Gravatar The sweater is gorgeous. How cruel of Gauge! I have my own gauge issues recently that I am getting up the courage to blog about. Actually, I'm working to write about it in a non-expletive replete manner.

Gravatar oh man - I would be so po'd - that is a gorgeous sweater!! I think I might have to call that a "jack-a--" sweater too!! (see earlier Yarnival entry - aka the boyfriend curse!)
