While working near the 'sweaty buttcrack of California' called Niland, the only radio station I could get that didn't include today's top hits of mexican polka was KBLU AM560, a talk radio show out of Yuma, AZ. Interestingly, I heard (on more than one occasion), an add encouraging folks to wear red on Fridays. I was so ammused, I had to phone a gal whom I'll refer to as 'Sugar Baby' and let her know the message is getting out across the land!
Appropriately, she was similarly excited... Perhaps you know her?

Gee Whiz, John!!! It's not bad enough we have to be on constant watch for all the Liberati Moronicii in the world, but thanks to your reminder we now have to worry about them being "...doctors, lawyers, and pilots..."!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those are more fine examples of people who just don't get it.
I don't know if you've ever read the Cranky Prof's blog, but your worry about the intelligence of those currently being educated in this country is indeed warranted.
One of her recent posts sadly demonstrates this well. Give her a read and you'll find more examples.
