I wnated to be a garbage man when I was a kid and when I wrote a report on it for career day the teacher wrote nasty things all over my essay saying what I chose wasn't appropriate.
Seven things that might be considered weird about Gawfer-
1. I’m scared to death of horses. Being left handed makes me a great heeler for team roping, and I got real good at lassoing folks' feet as they walked by, but I could not get on a horse for even a stupid picture… so much for team roping.
2. My wife tells me I always clear my throat… didn’t notice
3. I’ve only got 9 fingers. Started out with 10, but lost one on the way.
4. My daughter finds it peculiar that I sport a goatee (soul patch) but shave my head
5. My favorite Christmas gift was the Leg Lamp from ‘A Christmas Story’. I posted a pic of it on the blog.
6. I can remember phone numbers from years ago, and can do complex math problems in my head.
7. I loved the taste of ice cold Pepsi and dried squid after diving in Okinawa.
Drooling over a stainless steel Peacemaker with 100% engraving and Ivory grips weird? I hope not
Can't imagine being afraid of horses, but I carry because I don't like dogs and I had a dog attack that convinced me it was a good idea.
Dakotaranger - if you DIDN'T drool over a stainless steel Peacemaker with engraving and Ivory grips, that would be weird.

I have to agree with you about the guns. I think the Model 1911, the CZ 75, the Browning Hi Power and just about any Colt or Smith & Wesson (revolver) are works of art!
I used to be deathly afraid of horses. I grew up next to a pasture and my neighbor had several horses -- one of which was a real BITCH and scared the Hell out of me on more than 1 occassion. I will, however, report that last month (while on vacation is San Antonio) I rode my first horse. It was a little nerve-wracking at first, but I really did end up enjoying the experience and I have a totally new appreciation for John Wayne -- man, did my knees hurt when I finally dismounted (and, no, contrary to my biggest fear, I did not fall off!! 
)

What about feline revusion? Is it wierd to hate cats, yet allow one's family to own one?
It does avoid me though... could be because the last time I held it, I bowled it into the adjacent room.

No, Gawfer, hating cats is purrrrrfectly natural! Of course, I am admittedly biased as I am terribly allergic to the little furballs and was attacked by one in grade school. I nearly lost my sight in 1 eye to that damned cat (and it was the family pet, no less!)
JJ, do you suppose there is a correlation between your secret desire to be a garbage man and the fact that your sense of smell is *somewhat* haywire?

Gawfer is just plain weird!
The impaired sense of smell was probably caused by smoking. Since you quit hopefully it will return to some degree of normalcy(?).

I don't love 'em, but they can be revealing. I love horses, but I got taken for a runaway ride once on an ex-race horse my sister was training on ... now that was something!!
Why you would list these characteristics about yourself under "weird things" is beyond me, as you're about the sanest individual on the web.............except for the whole horse thing. That is beyond all comprehension.
If you don't like to touch feet, do you make Bob wash his own or do you make an exception?
