Nemo's rule of boast #7:
Sports fans shall not talk trash unless their team is better than .500.
Corollary #2:
The term "spanking" can only be used if the winning candidate gets better than 50% of the vote.
ex. 1) Man, did the dems ever get spanked in that deep blue state of New Jersey last night. Ouch.
ex. 2) November 2nd, 2010 (worst dem spanking ever)

Oh, well, then I guess the republicans are really getting spanked in all the polls. Seems like no one wants to be part of that club anymore.

Let’s see. The Democrats on the federal level picked up two more seats in the House of Representatives in two (former) GOP districts, increasing the Democratic majority in one of the two houses of Congress they hold.
Meanwhile in two state level races a lackluster democrat with Republican positions on the issues lost to a rightwing Republican pretending to be a moderate and a corporate, ex-Goldman-Sachs Democrat with a 30% approval rating, who couldn’t deliver on his promises in a state with a flagging economy lost, barely.
And Obama’s (the Democrat a top the executive branch) approval rating in both states is still good and exit polls did didn’t indicate any of the connections the GOPundits are trying to draw. Anyone looking into those tea leaves and seeing a listing to the right, is indeed a GOPtimist!

"The Democrats on the federal level picked up two more seats in the House of Representatives in two (former) GOP districts"
Wrong. California's 10th congressional district has been represented by Ellen Tauscher (D) since 1996. Redistricting in 2000 made the area more firmly Democratic when some of the more Republican-leaning parts of her district were cut out.

O.K. I'll take your word for it on that and I stand corrected.

Wow, there still seems to be a chance that NY 23 will go red:

I guess it's never really over until it's over.
